Hi, I’m Danielle Ward
….and this is how Calibrated Career started
My career journey probably started very similarly to your’s.
I was never really in tune with my strengths and talents when I was in school. My grades were bang-on average and, although I had a lot of interests, it was clear that I wasn’t particularly good at anything (or so I thought).
I had no idea what I could offer the world.
After leaving school, I considered either pursuing a business or teaching degree. I chose to study accounting for reasons that still escape me today!
I have no idea professional career advice existed.
I finished university, secured a place in a desirable graduate program and ended up with a secure public service job. I did all the things that were expected of me and that I had planned for myself.
It was only by a chance conversation with a colleague many years later that I realised what I really wanted to do and who I wanted to be. I knew at this point I wanted to help people like me and my 17-year-old self with their career development.
I know that many of you are in the same boat. Or perhaps you’re trying to avoid a scenario like this.
My mission is to ensure everyone has access to relevant, affordable and professional assistance to help plan their career when it’s needed. I know from 15 years of experience in the human resource and career development industries how difficult this can be. That’s why I started Calibrated Career.
